Why was my hanging laundry laid on the bed?

My laundry on the bed.

My laundry on the bed. Sometimes I wish I had a video-cam rolling full time in our house.

I came home to this on Friday, January 6, 2017. It was on the bed in our bedroom. All this stuff had been hanging to dry on my closet rod, which is also in the bedroom. It was dry for awhile, but I hadn’t yet put the stuff away. It was mostly what I call my “white-wash”; all the light and white things that can go in the wash together. And when we got home Friday night, after having met after work for a bite out, I go to the bedroom and see it all laid out on the bed. I didn’t immediately recognize the “pattern”. I went down to Bob, who hadn’t come upstairs yet, and asked him if he put my hanging laundry on the bed. Now I knew what the answer was before I asked him. There is no reason Bob would ever do this. He’d never done anything like it, and I knew he hadn’t this time either. Why would he move it? And especially onto the bed from my closet? He just looked at me funny, “Did I do what?”

“Did you lay my laundry with the hangars out on the bed?”, I asked, still feeling like I had to absolutely confirm that he hadn’t, before I jumped to the only other conclusion.

Again, a funny look. I knew the answer without asking: he didn’t do it.

“Have you been in the bedroom yet tonight?” Bob gets home before me, and then we meet out later. I meet him right from work because I finish later. Bob always comes home first to let out the dogs, get the fire going, stuff like that, and then we agree on a meeting-out place. He couldn’t remember, but thinking about it, said “No, I probably did not go into the bedroom”. There really wouldn’t have been a reason for him to, his closet is in the guest bedroom, and it’s where he always dresses or changes clothes. “So you didn’t see what’s on the bed?” I asked.

“No, I guess not. Why, what’s on it?”

I showed him a picture I’d taken on my phone. Bob went up to see it, and it was then he noticed the pattern, that the clothing had been arranged around a ‘center-point’ and 4 items or piles were in the intermediate ‘cardinal’ locations. It roughly looked like the Native American “Medicine Wheel”. Below are some examples of medicine wheels I pulled from the internet for illustration. I also did some ‘photoshopping’ of the clothing on the bed, to make it look more flat, and to bring out the pattern it resembles, because I was unable to get high enough over it, holding the camera over the bed. Am I totally off base here, in terms of the similarity? And if it was Nuttah, what is she trying to say? The meaning is open to interpretation. I mean, there must be SOME reason it was done, and some reason it was arranged in this particular fashion. And why did she choose only white shirts? If she’d wanted to illustrate something with color, because the medicine wheel colors are red, black, yellow and white, I certainly have clothes of those colors IN the closet… so what is the message here?

Daughter Kate has an Experience with the “Other Dimension”

This actually happened about 2 years ago, the Christmas Kate refers to in her write-up was Christmas of 2014.

Kate writes [and I edit somewhat]:

Twas the Monday before Christmas, and all through the house, SOMETHING was stirring, and it wasn’t a mouse….

sam-adams-bottles

A collection of Sam Adams bottles similar to those in Nate’s collection; But he has a lot more

December 22, 2014: I came home to an empty house, as [boyfriend] “Nate” was at his work Christmas party, at [a nearby restaurant]. The minute I walked into the house, I had a feeling of eeriness; something I’ve never had at this house (used to happen all the time at our old house) but never here. [The feeling was] enough that I checked every room and closet before I started baking my Blondie’s (delicious Christmas dessert). Several times before I even began baking, I was startled by either a thump or some other noise and actually kept rechecking everywhere.

Finally I started shelling pistachios for the Blondie’s, standing in the kitchen facing our corner winding cabinet. [By this Kate means one of those cabinets in a kitchen counter corner that spins around on a cylinder]. [Then] I heard a glass clink from outside, in the garage, and I assumed Nate had arrived home and was throwing an empty beer bottle in the recycling bins in the garage. I stood there shelling, awaiting his entry for a few minutes. When he didn’t come in, I went to investigate what he was doing out there for so long. As I entered the doorway from the kitchen to the hallway to the garage, I hear [a deafening crash from behind the basement door. Nate has a huge collection of probably 100 Sam Adams beer bottles: almost every Sam Adams bottle ever issued, no two alike]. broken_bottleI hear all of them crash down and go cascading down the basement steps. It was an unbelievable, literally ‘painful to the ears’ noise to listen to. I stood frozen for what felt like forever. I finally gathered the courage somehow to open the door. [And when I did, I was shocked by what I saw, which was exactly the opposite of my expectation]: Every single bottle was in its place, perfectly lined up, not a thing out of place. I closed the basement door and locked it, and waited for Nate to come home….

This is someone's collection of 'Sam' bottles, not Nate's, but when Kate opened the basement door, the bottles were intact on the shelves.

This is someone’s collection of ‘Sam’ bottles, not Nate’s, but when Kate opened the basement door, the bottles were intact on the shelves. You can just imagine the noise as they were falling and breaking.

Now this is me narrating:
What happened here? I listened, captivated by Kate’s story. I said at the end, “Well, I have a simple answer”, and for some reason it just seemed so obvious to me, having been drawn into the story, and knowing that what Kate was saying was not in the least made up.

“Well, what then?”, asks Kate.

“You did hear the bottles break, the shelves DID collapse, and the whole collection DID come crashing down and fall and break on the basement stairs. It happened. It just happened in a different time-line. You experienced the parallel dimension for just that one brief moment, and then stepped back into this one. You see, that’s what I mean by the ‘veil’ is growing thin, that separation between the dimensions is ‘thinning’, and sometimes we can experience what goes on in another one. That’s what I think happened there.”, I replied with an emphatic tone. I was pretty sure this was the answer, because I could think of no other. I certainly did not disbelieve what Kate had related.

Which brings me to something that I heard recently on a Coast to Coast episode, and which is what brought me to unearth this story now. (Although I had intended to when it happened, just never got around to that and a lot of other things…)

But listening in December 2016 to a show from October called “Paranormal Hotspots” made me think of this story again. The show aired Oct. 7, 2016, and the guest is Brandon Callahan, with host George Noory.

George: Let’s go to the phones, Will is in NYC, east of the Rockies. Hey, Will, good morning, go ahead.

Caller, Will: How you doin? Look here, when you first mentioned the “Trail of Tears”, right?

George: MmHm

Will: On my Mother’s side, a great-great-Grandmother was taken away on a freight train, and involved in the “Trail of Tears”. Um, she was full-blooded Cherokee, and the kids weren’t, they were mixed, so they weren’t taken. And one of the neighbors came and told them that they had taken the mother away. But here’s what I want to tell you: if you’re investigating haunted places, I come from a place near Savannah, Georgia where the storm is right now [Hurricane Matthew in the Fall of 2016] called Yamacraw. Right? And between River Street, where the storm is coming in, and Bay Street, that little section right there, is called Yamacraw. That is one of THE most, strangest, haunted places you will ever find.

George: What happened there, Will?

Will, chuckling: What didn’t happen?

George: Really?

Laurel Grove Cemetery in Savannah, that Will talked about as haunted

Laurel Grove Cemetery in Savannah, that Will talked about

Will: I mean, that’s where Africans, Indians and Irish came together, and there was people there from all over ‘cause it was a shipping port and the longshoremens, you know,  came there, and they stayed, some of them. But in Laurel Grove Cemetery where we have a plot is apparently one of the most haunted places in the world, I’ve heard.

Here’s what I want to say: My particular incident is that, we were coming to New York in ’64, I was 11 years old. My mother came down to get us, me and my two sisters and my brother. And my Grandfather told her to take us, bring us North because the area was changing, alright? New people was coming in. In any case, I came in late, and she was fixing me some food, and we were talking about leaving.  SOMETHING hit that kitchen wall. It was like a 18-Wheeler hit that wall; we actually saw the wall give, right? And we ran out of the kitchen after being knocked out of the chairs, ran down this long hallway to our dining, I mean living room.

My grandmother and my sisters and brother had no… they didn’t hear anything. This thing was like a bomb going off, we talk about it all the time. The next morning we went out there, there was nothing. The fence wasn’t moved, nothing was disturbed. And by all rights, the force of that thing would of knocked the house off the cinder blocks – ‘cause all of the houses were up on cinder blocks ’cause the place floods, you know? And to this day, we cannot explain what that was. My Mother is 83 right now, we talk about it all the time. We have no explanation for it, nobody else heard it ‘cept us two. And a woman told me, said that happened on another plane. She said somehow we crossed sumpin’ when we went into that kitchen. And that whole area down there, man, there’s stories that would curl your hair. I grew up hearing them, right? And uh, I left my number with your screener, if you want to, you know, hear more about it. But Yamacraw, from West Boundary Street up to West Broad, and from Bay Street to River Street, that area right there. Right?

I found a map online of "Yamacraw Village" between exactly the streets "Will" mentioned in his "Coast" call

I found a map online of “Yamacraw Village” between exactly the streets “Will” mentioned in his “Coast” call

George: Interesting, there. Okay, thanks, Will. Appreciate that. Why do certain areas that are contained like that, Brandon, why do they get haunted… or visited?

Brandon: You know, I think a lot of it has to do with history. I think a lot of it has to do with the past. Like I said, I’m a big believer in the fact that our collective energies can combine to create these sorts of things. Kind of like the theory of poltergeists. You know, that something that can manifest with high emotions and that’s another reason I feel like when we tap into a certain part of our brains we are capable of manifesting these sorts of things and when you see a lot of tragedy and evil, things of that nature, I feel like it can in fact ‘scar’ a location. And I think that can boost, or it can really kind of, I guess, so to speak ‘thin the veil’, between you know, the light and the dark. And it’s funny, you know as Will was telling that story, Savannah’s one of my favorite cities in the whole world.

George: Lots of activity there, huh?

Can you imagine the sound of THIS happening? And then finding out it was in a different timeline - parallel dimension, or "OTHER"?

Can you imagine the sound of THIS happening? And then finding out it was in a different timeline – parallel dimension, or “OTHER”?

Brandon: Oh, I adore that city and I would love to investigate down there. But you know, the story about what he was describing sounds exactly like this energy burst that actually happened to the brothers on that property down in Tahlequah* – IN the KITCHEN, on Christmas day. That was actually one of the last things that occurred in the house before they completely abandoned it. And they described it as just this, almost like a bomb went off. It was like, they said it felt like it was a giant glass jar full of glass that just had gotten dropped right in the middle of the kitchen. And it was just this explosion. And, so as Will’s telling that story, it really just kind of threw me right back into one of the first stories those brothers had told me when we went down there, and it’s, that’s pretty surreal.

George: When you hear stories like Will just mentioned, do you find that this country is full of stories like that?

Brandon: Absolutely, and that’s what kind of takes me out and do what I do, because there’s so many stories that will never get told, you know, to the masses that I feel like can be historically relevant.  It can also just give us the saying of “Truth is stranger than fiction”, and the thing is, is oftentimes when you really dig in deep and you really connect with a place, you can find that couldn’t be more true. And so, yeah, absolutely, I think people all over the world experience unexplainable phenomena, whether it’s quote/unquote paranormal or ghostly or anything like that, it’s just unexplainable. And that’s why I feel like ‘like minds’ and really intelligent people need to really just kind of come together and by all theories and methods, do our best to figure out why, why these things happen and whether they’re preventable or how you interact with it. It happens everywhere.

Now me just narrating: The reference to Tahlequah is to a place in Oklahoma, and I’m quoting here from the Coast website: “He discussed an area in Oklahoma of one of the largest clusters of ley lines in North America, where the Native American death marches, known as the Trail of Tears, ended and is now a location of heightened paranormal activity.”

And from Wikipedia:

*Tahlequah is a city in Cherokee County, OklahomaUnited States located at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. It is part of the Green Country region of Oklahoma and was established as a capital of the 19th-century Cherokee Nation in 1839, as part of the new settlement in Indian Territory after the Cherokee Native Americans were forced west from the American Southeast on the Trail of Tears.

Again, me just narrating: I think these stories share a certain similarity, and it is what I have come to call the “bleed-over” from the other dimensions where things are taking place that are different from our current time-line experience. There are many instances of this in the blog. Also, it is kind of to lay the groundwork for a future post where I will talk about an actual parallel life that I apparently am experiencing that Bob is keeping me updated on because he is in it too.

How to “Spark” Activity, Part II

2016-02-29-Diorama-Characters-3So for awhile now I have been hunting here and there for Native American diorama ‘characters’  in order to add to our ‘scenes’. Or, more specifically, to add to the material that Nuttah could work with, since I was so lame and slow in getting my paper doll characters together. I was looking in the realm of “hobby stores” that might sell ‘diorama’ kits and supplies. I found things, but just didn’t find anything specific enough that would work or that was affordable. All this action occurred on the internet of course, because the traditional brick & mortar hobby stores of my past have left us. However, I go to Michaels Arts & Crafts a lot because I am a knitter and I guess they have evolved into the new kind of hobby store. All that being said, I was in Michaels the other night, and I saw these funny tubes of characters as I breezed by the end of an aisle. They looked like this picture here of one of the tubes; this one containing dragons. I noticed there were several different themed tubes (or TOOBS, as the brand called them) and I hunted for a possible native american one. Bingo: A Western theme, with the following characters:

2016-02-29-Diorama-Characters-1

2016-02-20-112pm-Nuttah-2So there you have it, new diorama characters. I think I bought these on a Thursday, and I set them up on the dresser, just as a random group Friday morning. I didn’t use the things that were specifically ‘western’ such as the Tepee, the buffalo, the wagon or the cowboy. I picked out the 2 native men, the woman with the child, and the white woman. My purpose, of course, was to see if Nuttah would find them interesting enough to work with. They sat there for 3 days with nothing happening. I came in every day, and Nuttah’s ‘angel’ character still sat on the air conditioner staring out the window, and my new diorama characters sat unmoving on the bureau. Until Monday night, when I came home from work. I wrote the following email the next morning to Bob:

March 1, 9:11 AM: “We had a visit last night. I don’t know if you noticed the little diorama characters I had added. They are Plains Indians, but I thought they’d work for the purpose. Another thing I picked up at Michaels along with an egg cooker. Anyway, Nuttah figured them into one of her classic scenes, it is actually quite adorable. I will photograph this morning, but probably not have time to download. The entire scene is on the TV bureau. I can’t imagine who besides me is this stuff selling to. They have a whole series of these characters, in all kinds of themes, not just indians. I guess Michaels is the new Hobby store.”

That is just me speculating on who is buying these TOOBS; they must trot them out to some audience. Must be kids’ toys, I have no other ideas. Anyway, it worked. See the pictures with the captions below for explanation:

2016-02-29-Diorama-arrangement-1

This is the overall scene, and how she figured her original character into the whole thing, along with the 2 hearts. She used the kneeling woman with a fire and a ‘papoose’ in front of her on top of one of the hearts.

This one shows closer where she placed the Indian woman with a child in front of 'her' on one of the hearts.

This one shows closer where she placed the Indian woman with a child in front of ‘her’ on one of the hearts.

And here, I think she used this warrior character to indicate Bob, in front of the Teme/wolf/Niko/Duke characters (who are essentially all one being) and the way this warrior stands on Bob’s special stone is a big clue.2016-02-29-Diorama-arrangement-4

Here is a better closeup of how Bob, the warrior chief figures into the scene, and how she perceives, I think, her father as he was.2016-02-29-Diorama-arrangement-5
And then, after all that, as I was researching the “Toobs” on the Michaels site to find the pictures for the ‘intro’, I found that I had somehow missed that they did in fact have Eastern Indians, the Powhatens! How did I miss that? Perhaps the store I was in didn’t have it, but here are the characters below that are in that Toob. I will buying it as soon as I see it. THAT should ‘spark’ some new activity. My next post is going to be about dreams and parallel lives, due to a recurring dream I keep having, so stay tuned.2016-02-29-Diorama-Characters-2

She visits and leaves an arrangement

We came home Friday night, Feb. 5th to a change in the arrangement. Four of the dog-characters: Niko, Duke and two wolves were combined into one character on Bob’s bedside table, along with Bob’s special stone. Which reminds me… I was watching a program on perhaps one of the history channels where a guy who is a geologist or paleontologist? can analyze the age of carvings in stones. For instance, petroglyphs would lend themselves to this, as in Nuttah’s stone petroglyph. I wish I could remember his name because I would look him up, however, I doubt that I’d let the stone leave here and mail it to him for analysis so I guess remembering who he was really doesn’t matter. Although I am really curious about that stone.

Here is the arrangement of Bob’s side of bed:
2016-02-05-Niko-Duke-Teme-Teme

Here is another version of the same scene (flash didn’t go off, so it’s pretty orange). I spread out the paper characters, so it’s more obvious how they are piled up:

2016-02-05-Niko-Duke-Teme-Teme-3

2016-02-05-Nuttah-on-tableOn my side of the bed was another arrangement. I have pictured it here to the left. No flash on this one either, so it appears more ‘orange”. On my side was Nuttah’s character with a heart in front and 2 little tins of my moisturizer behind, looking in this picture for all the world like a set of wings. I asked Bob if, when he came home earlier, he’d had any sense of her presence or if the dogs had acted any differently at all. “No, not a thing”, he said.

So we were left to wonder what this unexpected visit was about. Ha – unexpected… as if any of them are “expected”. Unusual and always fascinating, so I continue to just log things as they happen.

The “dups” are rearranged with their wolf alter-egos

Remember, in our household, “Dups” = Dogs

Bob and I exchanged these emails on the morning of January 21, referring to the night before:
Bob: “Did wake to a visit, well the dups woke me with severe whining, all three whining in unison. Seemed very brief, but Nuttah was there with Teme. Don’t know what it was about, seemed brief, actually, I don’t know that, it was brief while I was awake. Lu has the silliest of whines, she needs to work on that. Niko and Red have proper whines.”

I wrote Bob back, same morning:
“Yes I knew there was a visit, there is a new arrangement on the TV dresser. What time did that happen? It seems to be all the dups and wolves piled up; she used the bark hut behind it all and she’s in the front with a heart on top of your stone facing the bed. What does it all mean? How is Teme doing, does he have hip issues still? Or you don’t know.”

I am really not sure what the nature of this visit was. Only the dogs (dups) know and they’re not talking. I asked Lucy later, she just looked at me and cocked her head funny. She seems to understand when I talk to her, understand  a lot more than we probably give her credit for. Here are pictures of what was on the bureau (and still is as I write this on 1/23:

A new arrangement with all the Niko, Red and Lucy characters that I provided.

Then I noticed that little Lu was pared with a wolf-pup! So is she just like Niko/Duke/Teme, and has an alter-ego that is a wolf?

Then I noticed that little Lu was pared with a wolf-pup! So is she just like Niko/Duke/Teme, and has an alter-ego that is a wolf?

If you click on the picture on the right, the one I have the pink circle around, you can see that Lucy has behind her (combined with her) one of the wolf-pups. Is this her wolf alter-ego? According to Bob, Niko now contains the essence of Duke and also the Teme (wolf) from their time. In fact, if something were to happen to Niko, it would also happen to the wolf (and vice versa) That much we do know. Both Niko and Teme had hip problems that started at the same time. With Teme, he got hurled against something by a bear, Bob thinks, and Niko started having serious problems with his hips/back legs then. We started taking him to a vet and having laser-treatments and acupuncture to bring him around. It really seemed to work too, at least for a year. This all started in late fall of 2014, and he did okay until recently. Now he is suffering again, and I’m afraid we may have to revisit getting some kind of ‘cart’ for Niko. He needs something like this:

If Niko had one of these, we could walk him and he could move around better. This even looks like him.

If Niko had one of these, we could walk him and he could move around better. This even looks like him. If Niko would tolerate being hooked into this thing, I think he’d really benefit from the action.

There was one other ‘event’ in January that bears writing about, and it took place on January 9th. Our kids were taking Bob out for his 60th birthday celebration. We were to meet them out at a venue in NJ, and then Stewie was going to spend the night here with us, although Bob didn’t know this until the day of the celebration. We had a great time out and then, as planned, Stewie came to spend the night. In the morning, after having more or less forgotten about his usual, timely ‘character’ arrival, I checked in the places it would normally show up and there was no sign of Stew. I chalked this up to Nuttah not picking up from Bob that Stewie was coming to spend the night, since the whole thing had developed as a surprise.

However, I mentioned this to Bob, and I guess he went and had a look around, and brought me out to the foyer to show me this:

There he was, his character showing up as he always does when Stew visits in person. We then went out to say goodbye when Stew was leaving, and by the time we came in the character was already gone.

A Christmas Day Event!

December 25, 2015 — Christmas Morning — We are officially 6 years into our “events” as of this day. It started in December of 2009. I know that is hard to believe, at least for me it is… I have a hard time with the speed at which time passes, but I believe that is one of the pitfalls of age. Bob and I are both approaching our 60th!! birthdays. Goodness, how time flies. But I divert… I came down Christmas morning, and Bob asked me to look at an email he sent. He’d been up earlier with the dogs, who always, no matter how late we try to sleep, get us up before 8 AM (or at least get Bob up by 8 AM, sometimes earlier). We are LUCKY if we can sleep til 8. So here is the text of the email:

“Came out to office with dups this morning, Niko and Lu went right to door, Niko was whining to get in, Lu was making the strangest sound, not a whine, not a bark, didn’t even know what it was at first, didn’t think it was coming from Lu. Opened the office door and all three piled in ahead of me. Found this:

2015-12-25-Cross-in-Office
So there is a cross on the office chair. I should explain “office”. It’s not the office we have in the house, it’s an outer building, and it actually now houses an elliptical exercise machine that Bob and I use. We no longer use it as an “office” per se, but still refer to it as “the office”. In the infamous Ivan flood of 2004, this building was up to its windows in water, so we no longer use it as the home office. So there this cross sat, made out of the rolled up shades that our son Stewie had hung when he, for a time, used this out-building as his bedroom. They have sat out there since, and this day, Christmas Day, Nuttah (?) had seen fit to arrange them on a chair in a cross shape. So that means she does at least understand the meaning of our holiday, which is saying something, because Christianity is not something they would have even known about. She must be picking up the clues from present day.

As always, Stewie's paper doll character mysteriously shows up whenever he arrives in person.

As always, Stewie’s paper doll character mysteriously shows up whenever he arrives in person.

But speaking of Stewie, he and his girlfriend came out to visit and to stay overnight on Christmas Day. At one point, I was wondering if the Stewie “character” had joined us yet, as inevitably, every time Stewie had visited, his paper character would also mysteriously show up somewhere too. Never in the same place, but it would always make an appearance. I hadn’t seen the character yet, and Bob reported he had not either. I have certain places I do look for the arrival of the Stewie character, and sometime later on Christmas evening, I found him. And here he is, on the hutch in the foyer, hiding behind this silly Oaxacan donkey. I have yet to post all the year’s worth of appearances of this character, but he shows up every time the actual Stewie does, and when we say good-bye to Stew, the character is always still there, and then Stewie leaves, and we come back in the house and it’s gone. I don’t have any idea where he “resides” in the intervals, but certainly nowhere that we can find him.

Nuttah drops in and… where is she?

The night of Feb. 18th, I was on the phone with Bob during our usual nightly phone call. I’m at work, Bob is calling me from bed, where he’s about to go to sleep for the evening. Suddenly, while we’re talking, Bob comments, “Whoa, what was that?”

“What?”, I asked, “What happened?”

“Something just ‘breezed’ through here”, Bob exclaimed.

“Was it Nuttah?” I wondered. (I have missed her. She has not been around of late – we don’t have the sense of her being ‘gone’, just not around much. At least not in our dimension)

“Not sure… “, Bob said. “But I don’t think so. It felt like more of a male presence.”

Apparently, Niko noticed it too; he picked up on something in the room and was alert, looking around the room.

“Look at my bedside table.” I said to Bob. “Nuttah (her character) was on my radio. Is she still there?”

Bob tried, but couldn’t see with his bad vision and with the dim TV light of the room. My answer would have to wait until I got home. So the first thing I did was to go up to the bedroom and check my bedside table. And she was gone. Where did she go? And more importantly, why? Did it happen when Bob felt the ‘breeze-through’? Or was that not her? Bob is pretty good at picking up what type of presence is in his midst, so I assumed that what he felt that time was not Nuttah. But who was it, and when did Nuttah move ‘herself’? And where did she go? I looked in all the usual places – elsewhere in the bedroom and then down in my office space where she would often appear on my desk. She was not in any of the usual places. I started to look in some of the unusual places. Not there either. By the next morning, I was stumped, but I didn’t have time to look around as I had to be at an appointment early. I  just got dressed, took care of all the pets and left.

I find her in the closet with the pewter turtle and Bob's stone

I find her in the closet with the pewter turtle and Bob’s stone

By the morning of Feb. 20th, I had not found her and wrote this to Bob:
Where (and why) do you think Nuttah has disappeared again? I was getting some comfort out of her being there on my radio every night.

Bob wrote back to me: I don’t necessarily think she has left, I don’t have that sense. Just somewhere we haven’t seen. Look around, I think she is there.

Shortly after this, while I was getting dressed this morning, I opened the curtains of my closet. (Which I hadn’t done the prior morning when I was in a hurry) I emailed Bob:
I FOUND HER!
I will send you a pic. She is on the floor of my closet with the stone and a turtle. What is the message of her being in my closet??

I couldn’t think of one. But pictured here is what I found on my closet floor. Bob wrote back to me: “On the floor of your closet!!? Only time that happened was when she was on the floor in front of the rug in our old bedroom, showing approval of the rug. Yes, I think it is a message, that is funny.”

Here, below, is the picture that Bob refers to, when Nuttah put herself on a rug we placed that day in our bedroom, after it had been in another part of the house. This picture makes me nostalgic for the many times she left me flowers and hearts. It’s been so long. Of course, it is winter…

More Drums and Rattles in Apartment

Early February, 2014:

There has not been a lot to report. Some minor things have occurred, but there is nothing major. For instance, from late January, there was this:

Bob feels as if he's entered into a room full of people

Sunday, January 26: I heard the “drum-vibration” this morning in the bathroom, where it was quiet, and Bob reported two incidents that weekend of “a group” in the apartment. Bob has been going out there multiple times daily to check on heating issues. We’ve had quite a winter of problems thus far due to single-digit temps. Everything ranging from frozen pipes, to baseboard heater leakages (results in water all over the floors/carpets) to major oil burner repairs. I guess we can’t complain since we haven’t used the oil burner since 2009. It will also be the first winter since ’09 that we will be forced to buy oil to supplement our wood heat. Not heating in certain parts of the house has proved costly in other ways this winter. Live and learn, but at least now we have our back-up source of heat. Oh, and by the way, ever since we put the light out there and left it on, there hasn’t been anymore random turning on of lights. So that is apparently all they wanted – a constant source of light.

She was frozen by the corner of the office, growling

Sunday night, Bob had an incident involving none other than our dog “Stupe”, who almost never gets caught up in events. Well, never, not almost never. Bob had taken all the dogs out to the yard to relieve themselves. All dutifully followed him back in but Stupe. After 10 or so minutes, Bob, who was already inside and had taken his shoes off, went out to call her from the door. “STUPE!”, he yelled loudly out the back door toward the yard. “STUPE!” No Stupe came back, nothing but an echo from a neighbor across the creek yelling “STUPE!” back. Finally, Bob suited up and put his shoes back on, and headed toward the yard. And there was Stupe, in a frozen stance by the corner of the “office” out-building, staring at the corner and growling a deep, low, guttural growl. It was right about at this moment that Bob immediately regretted not taking Niko out with him. He had to go over in the snow and physically pull Stupe away from the building corner as she growled. He came in with her and told me what had “held her up”. We don’t know what it was about, but Stupe is usually completely oblivious to anything going on.

Aside from that, the only thing we’ve really noticed is the drumming/vibration, fairly regularly, and fairly pronounced over the last couple of days:

Bob, in an email, Monday morning, Jan. 27: Heard some serious drums and rattles when I checked the apartment this morning.

And then Tuesday morning, Jan. 28, email from Bob: Very LOUD drums and rattles in the apartment this morning, to the point of distraction, as soon as I open the door into apartment it is RIGHT THERE.

My email back to Bob, Jan. 28: Interesting what’s going on in the apartment. I’ve been hearing the “vibration” for a couple of days now, but I never hear anything out there. Last night, it was apparent when I pulled in the driveway.

And then on Feb. 4, I emailed to Bob:  I meant to mention that there was “movement” in our room last night – Nuttah is now on my bedside table and not on the TV table. This was last night when I came up to bed. Anything?

(Meaning did Bob pick up any presence the night this move happened.)

Bob to me: Not that I am aware of. Glad she is still about. Worry about her.

When I was getting ready to post this update, I put the term “Lenape Drumming” into an image search engine, to try to find something to add to the post. I have copied the picture of the result, because I think it is funny:

And this was on a different computer too; I was not on the desktop that I do this work on

A Weekend of Events

Tonight it is Wednesday, January 8, 2014 and I came home to loud buzzing in the driveway. It followed me to the mailbox, and it followed me into the house and upstairs, and now I hear it dimly in the office as I sit here typing. I’ve already checked for changes upstairs, and things are still the way they were placed this weekend. Bob had reported Niko being distracted and unsettled earlier, last night it was that way too. But I get ahead of myself… going back to the weekend:

The bark hut was left by itself where it was propped in front of the TV

It was the first weekend of January, 2014. First, Bob went out to the apartment on Friday night, Jan. 3rd and heard lots of drumming and rattles. Then, we went out the night of Saturday, January 4th, and when we came home, there was a change in the display of objects upstairs in the bedroom. All but the bark-hut had been moved to be repositioned on my bedside table. I will add a picture of that change. And then Sunday the 5th, again in the apartment, Bob had to turn off lights that we did not leave on. It occurred to me as we were talking about these latest,  but relatively minor events, that maybe the drums and rattles that Bob heard over there Friday night were part of a ceremony. Because it was exactly one year ago Friday that I posted this one:

Jan. 3, 2013 – The Day it Happened

It might be hard to see but a ruler registered 7.5" of snow Friday, Jan. 3

It might be hard to see but a ruler registered 7.5″ of snow Friday, Jan. 3

And remember, the “Day it Happened” was the day Bob’s “buddy” was finally annihilated. Knowing that the Lenape are very much conscious of the ceremonial aspects of life in the form of “events”, I was pretty sure that there was something going on Friday to commemorate it. Why wasn’t Bob part of it? Were the pups? Niko? We had been home all day: it snowed heavily Friday. Bob had a rare planned day off, I ended up calling out because of the weather. Yeah, pretty lame, but I also knew it was going to be a really slow day. I don’t do that often, but with Bob being home, it made sense. This would have been the day that something would happen regarding a “ceremony”. And maybe it did, and maybe it just didn’t work out that Bob or Niko could be involved. Remember, we have been made aware that Bob can only “go” a limited number of times.

I still have not made my new characters. I had lots of time off, but I also had lots of things to do. Maybe this weekend. Here is the picture I promised of the way things had changed on my bedside table:

When Stewie leaves, his character follows

The arrangement found on my bedside table when I got home from holiday party

The arrangement found on my bedside table when I got home from holiday party

Stewie and his girlfriend (I’ll call her “Minsi” – a Lenape word, hope she doesn’t object) left to go to work the morning after Christmas Day, but Stewie decided to come out again that evening to spend the night. I wondered if his character would disappear or stay; does Nuttah “know” when he’s returning? She seemed to, because even while Stew was gone all day Thursday (12/26) at work, his character remained where Bob had seen it “come in” on my bedside table. We went out to dinner Thursday evening (Yes, even with all that leftover turkey!), and then Stew showed us how to stream movies on our TV. Sad how we can never figure this out for ourselves. After Stew’s visit overnight, he left Friday afternoon. I kept an eye on the arrangement upstairs as I could, and by the time I got up Saturday morning, he was gone.

The arrangement is now on the TV dresser (a very old TV)

The arrangement is now on the TV dresser (a very old TV)

Bob and I had much to do Saturday, and when we returned from dinner late Saturday night, there was a change from the arrangement on my bedside table:  Stew was still gone, but also the entire arrangement had been moved! It was now on our bedroom TV table; a dresser in the corner. It was basically in the same configuration as before, but now right in front of the TV. I’ve included a picture here, and compare it to the thumbnail in the paragraph above. The only real difference is that Bob’s special stone remains on my bedside table and is not part of this arrangement.

Bob had no explanation of this new change, and said he did not feel the presence of Nuttah, nor had he throughout the day. There had only been that very brief encounter when she breezed through to place Stewie’s character on Christmas Day. We’re left to try to interpret. I know it’s where our eyes are always directed, she is literally in front of the TV controls and I have to use the remote, otherwise I would upset this arrangement. Trying to get our attention? I don’t know, but I do know that she has it.
