Activity Ramps Up; The Elders Want the Apartment Empty

Well, there is a lot to report. Things have not stopped happening, the problem is that my time to report them is minimal. Considering that each post takes about 45 min. to an hour for me, and there are 505 published posts, well the math adds up to over 500 hrs. of work. That’s a big chunk of time in a working woman’s life. Time excuse aside, I know I owe a lot to ‘catch up’. I would like to… just have to find the time. A list of things to sum up activity over the missing years:

  1. Lois started to knit – and knitting is a very enjoyable activity that often intruded on blog posting.
  2. Things never did stop happening. Just my ability to write it all up and report has been compromised.
  3. The area of the house where it all began in 2009? — we rented it for the last 4 years as an apartment. The 4-year occupant just moved out in December (2017) and son Stewie is about to rent it, starting Feb. 1.
  4. Nuttah has been kidnapped – about a month ago (more on that in future post).
  5. And lastly, sadly, Niko died on my birthday in 2017, and as Niko goes, so goes Tëme.

An internet picture to depict “The Elders”

So, the best way to deal with this backlog of story, I think, is to just start with now. So this is what is happening now. Today is Saturday, January 27, 2018. Sometimes when I write that year (2018), I just can’t believe it is actually that number, so far along. I hear other people saying it too, that what used to be a month now feels like a week of time. Like time is speeding up. I feel that every day; time just slips away, speeding along. I hear young people say it too, so I know it’s not just a factor of age. I think the only people not complaining are 10 and under.

Anyway, back to TODAY. We are home, it’s Saturday. We were expecting 3 things today:

1) A firewood delivery
2) Stewie dropping off the lion’s share of furnishings as part of his move-in process to the now-empty apartment
3) An electrician to wrap up a project that was supposed to take a day (we’re now more than a week into it, because of problems encountered with this 100 yr. old house, wiring and such).

Two of these events have already postponed: 1 & 2. The electrician I’m just waiting to hear from, but given the scenario, there is a good chance he will also postpone. Why, you might wonder? Because the elders have taken over the apartment. Bob went in there last night, he says he was met with strong resistance. He says it was obvious he was not wanted in there and he was shuffled right on out. Upstairs, there was a big noise. He came back to our part of the house a bit perturbed and asked me to go over and check it out. “NO!”, I said – I don’t like putting myself in the midst of that activity, on the chance that I would perceive it, it freaks me out a bit much, like walking into a room full of ghosts. Would you do it? I think not. So why are they there? Well Bob was ‘given’ a bit of a hint overnight in a dream. He was shown that they are there, and they ‘need’ the space to be left alone and empty for their purposes. How was this information conveyed? Why did Stewie postpone, why did Mike, who was bringing the firewood delivery, postpone? Somehow they – the elders – influenced all of that too. Bob got a text from Stew this morning, that he was not prepared yet (truck rentals, etc.) for it to happen today. Bob replied that he was shown last night that this would not happen today.

Here’s how the texting went back and forth:

Stewie: Pushing back the uhaul til tomorrow if that’s okay with you, realized I still have a bunch to prep for it, plus there’s no 17 footers available

Bob’s reply: I saw that last night

Stew: Huh?

Bob: There was activity last night in the apartment, and it was made clear that you would not be here today

Stew: Wow, how?

Bob: The old joints were having some ritual when I went in and made it clear that no one would be allowed in until it was complete, they would delay stuff to ensure that that would not happen, and they kicked me out, essentially.

I guess it was more or less no surprise then when Mike postponed the firewood delivery. So what is his relevance to this scenario? We don’t get firewood in the apartment and it’s delivered to the street on ‘our’ side of the house. But Mike, coincidentally, is also the person that ran the wall replacement project. We’ve been buying firewood from him ever since, so we’re on our 9th year with Mike. The wall is relevant, because it’s when all this activity started – or thereabouts. The electrician? Well, he hasn’t postponed yet, but maybe will because electrical activity might interfere with what they are doing?

Bob just walked in to a text from the electrician: he is “feeling under the weather”, and wants to reschedule to Monday.

So there you go… all three scheduled Saturday events have been ’caused’ to not happen so that the elders can conduct their business in peace. And what is their business? They are discussing the annual ceremony that takes place about this time every year; every year since (our year) 2013 anyway. So this would have been the 5 year anniversary celebration of saving the Lenape tribe from annihilation.  Bob was part of that time-travel foray into their time to assist both with strategizing and the actual event. So was Duke/Tëme/Niko; they were instrumental. I say “They”, but they exist in the body of one. As does Bob and his (their time) avatar. Hard to explain, I won’t get into the details of this now. But Bob believes that the elders are trying to remedy the problem of not having Nuttah there to perform the proper ceremony. Nuttah is now an important Shaman (woman), and because of that, she has been kidnapped. I will get into that in another post, because Bob (and avatar) has been part of that scenario as well. Nuttah has not been able to communicate much since her kidnapping and we don’t know where she is being ‘kept’. Prior to this, we did hear from her occasionally, enough to know that she still could and would communicate. All for future posts, I did document it all.

So you see, there is lots to post. I am overwhelmed in a way with the volume/magnitude of it, but all I can do is chip away slowly, one post at a time. And leave the elders to their important task.

If you want to catch up on the past events that led to the ceremony they have now at the beginning of every year, here is a link to the one I wrote up last year, which then includes links to the event that started it:

How to “Spark” Activity, Part II

2016-02-29-Diorama-Characters-3So for awhile now I have been hunting here and there for Native American diorama ‘characters’  in order to add to our ‘scenes’. Or, more specifically, to add to the material that Nuttah could work with, since I was so lame and slow in getting my paper doll characters together. I was looking in the realm of “hobby stores” that might sell ‘diorama’ kits and supplies. I found things, but just didn’t find anything specific enough that would work or that was affordable. All this action occurred on the internet of course, because the traditional brick & mortar hobby stores of my past have left us. However, I go to Michaels Arts & Crafts a lot because I am a knitter and I guess they have evolved into the new kind of hobby store. All that being said, I was in Michaels the other night, and I saw these funny tubes of characters as I breezed by the end of an aisle. They looked like this picture here of one of the tubes; this one containing dragons. I noticed there were several different themed tubes (or TOOBS, as the brand called them) and I hunted for a possible native american one. Bingo: A Western theme, with the following characters:

2016-02-29-Diorama-Characters-1

2016-02-20-112pm-Nuttah-2So there you have it, new diorama characters. I think I bought these on a Thursday, and I set them up on the dresser, just as a random group Friday morning. I didn’t use the things that were specifically ‘western’ such as the Tepee, the buffalo, the wagon or the cowboy. I picked out the 2 native men, the woman with the child, and the white woman. My purpose, of course, was to see if Nuttah would find them interesting enough to work with. They sat there for 3 days with nothing happening. I came in every day, and Nuttah’s ‘angel’ character still sat on the air conditioner staring out the window, and my new diorama characters sat unmoving on the bureau. Until Monday night, when I came home from work. I wrote the following email the next morning to Bob:

March 1, 9:11 AM: “We had a visit last night. I don’t know if you noticed the little diorama characters I had added. They are Plains Indians, but I thought they’d work for the purpose. Another thing I picked up at Michaels along with an egg cooker. Anyway, Nuttah figured them into one of her classic scenes, it is actually quite adorable. I will photograph this morning, but probably not have time to download. The entire scene is on the TV bureau. I can’t imagine who besides me is this stuff selling to. They have a whole series of these characters, in all kinds of themes, not just indians. I guess Michaels is the new Hobby store.”

That is just me speculating on who is buying these TOOBS; they must trot them out to some audience. Must be kids’ toys, I have no other ideas. Anyway, it worked. See the pictures with the captions below for explanation:

2016-02-29-Diorama-arrangement-1

This is the overall scene, and how she figured her original character into the whole thing, along with the 2 hearts. She used the kneeling woman with a fire and a ‘papoose’ in front of her on top of one of the hearts.

This one shows closer where she placed the Indian woman with a child in front of 'her' on one of the hearts.

This one shows closer where she placed the Indian woman with a child in front of ‘her’ on one of the hearts.

And here, I think she used this warrior character to indicate Bob, in front of the Teme/wolf/Niko/Duke characters (who are essentially all one being) and the way this warrior stands on Bob’s special stone is a big clue.2016-02-29-Diorama-arrangement-4

Here is a better closeup of how Bob, the warrior chief figures into the scene, and how she perceives, I think, her father as he was.2016-02-29-Diorama-arrangement-5
And then, after all that, as I was researching the “Toobs” on the Michaels site to find the pictures for the ‘intro’, I found that I had somehow missed that they did in fact have Eastern Indians, the Powhatens! How did I miss that? Perhaps the store I was in didn’t have it, but here are the characters below that are in that Toob. I will buying it as soon as I see it. THAT should ‘spark’ some new activity. My next post is going to be about dreams and parallel lives, due to a recurring dream I keep having, so stay tuned.2016-02-29-Diorama-Characters-2

Dreams, Vibrations, and Bob hears Drums

Nuttah looks out the window

Nuttah & a heart; facing out the window toward the creek behind the house

Thursday night, February 18, coming home from work, I got out of my car in the driveway and immediately noticed the ‘hum/buzz’. I have not heard it in a LONG time, months really; a couple of times since fall, at best. I wondered momentarily what this was about now, as it kind of ‘followed’ me into the house. This was, at one time a couple years ago, a pretty daily event, but not so much now. Not sure what to attribute this to… maybe the ‘travel’ is hard on her as well. O r with her boy, now 3, she doesn’t ‘get out as much’. Or is this what the ‘buzz’ is even about? I often equated it to drumming or music from ‘their time’ bleeding over into ours. I mentioned to Bob that I’d heard it Thursday, I think this was Friday when I said this, and he told me then that he’d been hearing drums and music for almost 2 weeks. He hadn’t said anything til now so I was surprised. At about that time, I’d gone upstairs to our bedroom and I found that Nuttah was now on the air conditioner facing out the window, looking toward the creek in the back. There was a heart in front of her, pointed outward also and the picture is included here.

Dups arranged on table

The Niko-Duke-Teme-Teme combo that inhabits Niko, is again arranged with Bob’s stone on his bedside table.

Then on Saturday, we were doing stuff around the house, here and there; our usual Saturday chores and what-not. Bob had taken a clock-radio he found in the basement up to try out the radio on his side of the bed. He can’t get reception on his side well enough to hear Coast to Coast at night and sometimes he wishes he could, but this radio was no better. I went up a bit later and I noticed the dog-cutouts were again all arranged like they are in this picture. Bob said when he was testing the radio, they’d all been just laying around the table, knocked over since my last post about it Feb. 10.

The only other thing to mention is that in the early hours of dawn Saturday morning, I had an odd dream about a cat. It was not one of our cats (we still have two) but a similar one in black and white. What was notable about this dream is that it was apparent to me that the cat teleported somehow. Like it was in one world, and then suddenly it was in another, and the ‘other’ is the one I was seeing it in. I’m not sure how this was obvious, but again, it’s a dream, and that’s how dreams are. I’ve gotten much better at remembering them lately, but I’m making a specific effort about doing this every night, and then recording them when I can remember. It seems to get easier as you do.

Bob mentioned today that last night, he had one of his ‘travel through history’ dreams. He was flying over the places he ‘was shown’, and able to look from current times back through millenia into history. I wish he would write this up while fresh in his mind

She visits and leaves an arrangement

We came home Friday night, Feb. 5th to a change in the arrangement. Four of the dog-characters: Niko, Duke and two wolves were combined into one character on Bob’s bedside table, along with Bob’s special stone. Which reminds me… I was watching a program on perhaps one of the history channels where a guy who is a geologist or paleontologist? can analyze the age of carvings in stones. For instance, petroglyphs would lend themselves to this, as in Nuttah’s stone petroglyph. I wish I could remember his name because I would look him up, however, I doubt that I’d let the stone leave here and mail it to him for analysis so I guess remembering who he was really doesn’t matter. Although I am really curious about that stone.

Here is the arrangement of Bob’s side of bed:
2016-02-05-Niko-Duke-Teme-Teme

Here is another version of the same scene (flash didn’t go off, so it’s pretty orange). I spread out the paper characters, so it’s more obvious how they are piled up:

2016-02-05-Niko-Duke-Teme-Teme-3

2016-02-05-Nuttah-on-tableOn my side of the bed was another arrangement. I have pictured it here to the left. No flash on this one either, so it appears more ‘orange”. On my side was Nuttah’s character with a heart in front and 2 little tins of my moisturizer behind, looking in this picture for all the world like a set of wings. I asked Bob if, when he came home earlier, he’d had any sense of her presence or if the dogs had acted any differently at all. “No, not a thing”, he said.

So we were left to wonder what this unexpected visit was about. Ha – unexpected… as if any of them are “expected”. Unusual and always fascinating, so I continue to just log things as they happen.

January 24, 2016

The “dups” are rearranged with their wolf alter-egos

Remember, in our household, “Dups” = Dogs

Bob and I exchanged these emails on the morning of January 21, referring to the night before:
Bob: “Did wake to a visit, well the dups woke me with severe whining, all three whining in unison. Seemed very brief, but Nuttah was there with Teme. Don’t know what it was about, seemed brief, actually, I don’t know that, it was brief while I was awake. Lu has the silliest of whines, she needs to work on that. Niko and Red have proper whines.”

I wrote Bob back, same morning:
“Yes I knew there was a visit, there is a new arrangement on the TV dresser. What time did that happen? It seems to be all the dups and wolves piled up; she used the bark hut behind it all and she’s in the front with a heart on top of your stone facing the bed. What does it all mean? How is Teme doing, does he have hip issues still? Or you don’t know.”

I am really not sure what the nature of this visit was. Only the dogs (dups) know and they’re not talking. I asked Lucy later, she just looked at me and cocked her head funny. She seems to understand when I talk to her, understand  a lot more than we probably give her credit for. Here are pictures of what was on the bureau (and still is as I write this on 1/23:

A new arrangement with all the Niko, Red and Lucy characters that I provided.

A new arrangement with all the Niko, Red and Lucy characters that I provided.

Then I noticed that little Lu was pared with a wolf-pup! So is she just like Niko/Duke/Teme, and has an alter-ego that is a wolf?

Then I noticed that little Lu was pared with a wolf-pup! So is she just like Niko/Duke/Teme, and has an alter-ego that is a wolf?

If you click on the picture on the right, the one I have the pink circle around, you can see that Lucy has behind her (combined with her) one of the wolf-pups. Is this her wolf alter-ego? According to Bob, Niko now contains the essence of Duke and also the Teme (wolf) from their time. In fact, if something were to happen to Niko, it would also happen to the wolf (and vice versa) That much we do know. Both Niko and Teme had hip problems that started at the same time. With Teme, he got hurled against something by a bear, Bob thinks, and Niko started having serious problems with his hips/back legs then. We started taking him to a vet and having laser-treatments and acupuncture to bring him around. It really seemed to work too, at least for a year. This all started in late fall of 2014, and he did okay until recently. Now he is suffering again, and I’m afraid we may have to revisit getting some kind of ‘cart’ for Niko. He needs something like this:

If Niko had one of these, we could walk him and he could move around better. This even looks like him.

If Niko had one of these, we could walk him and he could move around better. This even looks like him. If Niko would tolerate being hooked into this thing, I think he’d really benefit from the action.

There was one other ‘event’ in January that bears writing about, and it took place on January 9th. Our kids were taking Bob out for his 60th birthday celebration. We were to meet them out at a venue in NJ, and then Stewie was going to spend the night here with us, although Bob didn’t know this until the day of the celebration. We had a great time out and then, as planned, Stewie came to spend the night. In the morning, after having more or less forgotten about his usual, timely ‘character’ arrival, I checked in the places it would normally show up and there was no sign of Stew. I chalked this up to Nuttah not picking up from Bob that Stewie was coming to spend the night, since the whole thing had developed as a surprise.

However, I mentioned this to Bob, and I guess he went and had a look around, and brought me out to the foyer to show me this:

There he was, his character showing up as he always does when Stew visits in person. We then went out to say goodbye when Stew was leaving, and by the time we came in the character was already gone.

How to ‘spark’ activity

So I had a little time off between Christmas and New Year’s this year. It ends tomorrow (1/4/16) but I had a nice 11-day stretch of vacation time, which I spent at home. It’s always nice to just sort of hang out at home and not have to work; I could get used to this in no time. I did do a lot of chores and cleaning/organizing, a fair amount of visiting, and things that I normally can’t do because about 12 hours of my work days are occupied with either getting ready for work, driving to or from work, or actually being at work. So that leaves little else. One of the little ‘projects’ that I’ve put off for a long time and have thought about doing, I actually did. I made paper cut-outs of the newer dogs in our house. It has been that long; all the dogs we have now were not ours when all this started. I know that probably sounds like a small thing, but when everything else is so pressing, doing this was no small feat. And with this, I’d also like to introduce a new face in our dog-household, and that is little “Lu”. “Lu” is Lucy, the Yorkie. A Yorkie! you might think, amongst our German Shepherd and wolf-hybrid. Yes, it’s Lucy; Yorkie rescue, and she holds her own with Niko and Red, and another dog we adopted last February that we call “Fred”, short for Winifred.

3 of the dogs. Red on the left, Niko on the right, and (not to scale), Lucy the Yorkie in the middle

3 of the dogs: Red on the left, Niko on the right, and (not to scale), Lucy the Yorkie in the middle

I made cutouts of Niko, Red and Lucy. All 3 have at one time or other been part of “events”. Fred has not, so I didn’t make a cutout for Fred. The 3 of them are pictured here to the left, and the caption tells who they are. This was on the 29th and I set them up that same day on the bureau in our bedroom with Nuttah.

Pictures of the dog/wolf arrangement

And here is how I placed them on the bureau. I added the original cutouts I still had of the wolves, and then there is also Duke in this picture, just to the left of Nuttah. And a blue Oaxacan (Mexican) rabbit, but that object ‘lives’ on the bureau – it’s always there

We were out for a bit on Thursday, 12/31, which is New Year’s Eve, but it was early, we didn’t want to be out late. We were having an early dinner at a local pub, because we wanted to get home and in before any New Year’s Eve madness started. Bob at one point during dinner said to me, “Nuttah is visiting right now.”

“What?, How do you know?”, I asked.

“I just see her by the creek with her boy”, Bob replied.

“What is she doing?”, I asked.

“Nothing really, I just had a very clear image of her there, and she somehow communicated that to me.”

So you can imagine that when we got home, I made a beeline to the bedroom to check the bureau to see if any changes. And voila! Yes, there was, see picture below. So what has changed, is that all the dogs were pulled in tighter to Nuttah. She is down now at their level, and she piled a heart on top of Bob’s stone. But the most interesting thing, that Bob had to point out to me, because I didn’t see it right away, was that the paper character of Duke (the shepherd we had prior to Niko that passed away) was SHARING Niko’s support stand. Duke had been inserted into the stand as if he and Niko shared the same – well, body, I guess. That is what Bob has been saying all along, that Duke lives still inside of Niko, as well as the Teme wolf that lives in Nuttah’s world. The 3 are all part of one. I don’t know how this works, but this is what Nuttah is illustrating by combining the 2 shepherds. In the picture below, you can kind of see Duke’s ears behind Niko’s head.

Changes on the Bureau

The changes to the arrangement. Disregard the owl to the right of the arrangement, I had placed that there too, but it really doesn’t figure into anything, except for the fact that Nuttah didn’t disturb it.

And then in this picture below, I came in closer to try to better illustrate the little scene. What both of us missed, because the cutout is smaller than the other two, is that BEHIND Niko and Duke, one of the wolf cutouts was also sharing the stand. So she HAD combined the 3 all in one. Bob seems to know, when he is visiting ‘there’, that the wolf/dog he interacts with is Niko/Duke/Teme – the 3 of them all inhabiting the one. And now Nuttah has substantiated this with the cutouts. I still plan to work with more cutouts/diorama objects, because it seems like the best way for her to communicate ideas and relationships. And I do like to ‘spark’ some activity.

Another (the 3rd?) ceremony to honor Niko

Lenape-Turtle-LogoBob wrote this email Saturday morning, 10/13, 8:19 AM:
Had a dream last night. The honoring Niko dream again, only this time Niko/Teme/dukey was at the north cardinal point, covered in some sort of white robe. An emblem on a banner that looked like a white bird, very stylized was held over him by a young boy. Nuttah at the east in red predominant adornment,  she had her baby with her. Old man in yellowish adornments to south and a big joint to the west in primarily blackened clothing. My vantage point was in the middle. All directions offering obeisance,  I think that is right, to the north. Very serious, solemn affair. Remember feeling awe. Nuttah looked healthy, her baby is looking strong and healthy. Lot of pledges to always honor from directional points. Pretty interesting dream. Woke with Niko staring at me around 3:20.

Email from Bob the next morning on October 14, 2013:
I have an increasingly different view of Niko after each incident, may just be delusional, but I see glimpses of things with him that are much deeper than the obvious bond. It is very humbling at moments of recognition. Can’t really explain it, I just know that what we “know” is not all there is, not even a terribly important part of what is.

Me, 10:14 AM: Curious what’s going on with Niko. As I was typing up and posting the stuff that happened in July, I was getting a feeling of something much deeper and significant, but it was eluding me. Maybe it will all become apparent as time goes on.

Walking Red in the local woods

Walking Red in the local woods

Now me just narrating: I do hope that this work honoring Niko has an effect on his behavior. This has been about the 3rd “ceremony” to honor him. I am guessing that there will be four, due to the directional points. There has not been any incident since July, thankfully, and we are now halfway through October. Of course, there is also the fact that we are limiting his contact with virtually anyone, due to the potential of an issue. He seems to be better with the addition of “Red”, the other shepherd. She is the one we are convinced was “brought” to us, possibly to help Niko. There is also yet another dog in our midst now, plenty of pups for the shepherds to herd. Four dogs, two cats, do you think it’s getting out of hand? Dog #4 was a flea-bitten stray that looked on the verge of death when Bob found him curled up in a ball on our property. We kept an eye out for signs in case anyone had lost him or was looking for him, but the way he appeared, his fur about an inch think in flea “dirt”, we really did not think anyone was taking care of him or was much interested in his welfare. He was also completely deaf, so it was a relative mystery how he’d survived. Maybe he was just “meant to be here” as well. We named him “Sprite”. All 4 dogs get along, and we just keep the cats separated and everything is fine.

Bob Experiences another Ceremony to Honor Niko

The night of September 23rd, we both had a perfectly lousy night of sleep. The dogs all had gotten a new batch of fleas, and although we’d treated them, it had not yet taken effect. It was a miserable night of scratching for them, and sleep interruption for us. How long does it take these flea meds to work! Then, to compound that problem, some strange animal was making noise right outside our window. It would get very close, somewhere in the yard, then move away. It was making the oddest, saddest sound, but didn’t sound like it was being harmed or attacked. I have no idea what this strange creature was. Then, Bob had a dream: another ceremonial dream honoring Niko.

Bob’s email to me the next morning:
“Rough night of sleep, starting with the dogs scratching then the ceremonial dream, then the dogs scratching, then the noise outside, then the dogs scratching. Tell me what to get and I will do it on way home. I will make vet appointment too. They have to be miserable.  Then the dogs scratching….and whining.”

Later, Bob was to elaborate on the ceremonial dream he had:

“The ceremony was interesting because now they have incorporated a little bit of the stuff from the spring celebration and honoring of the guys that got rid of my “buddy”.  Also the merging of the wolf/turtle tribes. Teme/Dukey/Niko and my avatar were put at the north point with a collar of white feathers on each. There was a woman in yellow dried flowers directly across facing us. To the right or west was another old woman covered in some brackish tar like substance and some blue feathers and other stone of blue holding a deer skull with antlers. Then there was Nuttah in red face paint with a snake skin necklace and turtle shell pendant and wolf skin. All surrounded by the tribe with drums rattles and something else I couldn’t see but sounded flute-like. Lots of words said and bowing and offering to sky. It ended with a solemn walk away from the cross to another large fire at the end of the village. Then they broke into a feast…  I, of course, didn’t get to stay for that. Anyway, hope you slept well.”

And my email back to Bob, 9:04 AM: I don’t know what that animal or bird is, I heard it one time before, it was across the creek one night when I had the pups out late. It freaked me out. As loud as it was in bedroom, you should hear it outside, when you’re not expecting it. Gave me chills and hurried me right in. I tried to spot something with flashlight, but couldn’t. Last night it sounded like it was up high, and the sound also moved around, which would mean it’s not necessarily a “distress” sound, unless it was being hauled away. Guess it could have been something caught by a night bird.

Great ceremony! I was trying to tie in what you described with the arrangement left on my desk: I brought the four clover points in on Sunday, and arranged them in a cross. Nuttah then elaborated on it, as pictured below. She now sits at the point closest me, opposite her is the paper heart, the other 2 points have the pewter turtle with a stone heart atop, and also a wolf pup, and opposite that point is your stone. I will send you a picture. I tried to interpret it last night to no avail. Wish you could have stayed for feast, wonder what that would have been like to taste that food. You never have, have you, tasted the food?

Here is a picture of the arrangement that I found on my desk after Bob’s description of the ceremony. I can only hope that these ceremonial events will somehow help Niko (and the others he carries with him) to recover:

Am I back in Nuttah’s good graces??

A few days later, on Saturday, July 27, we were sitting outside in the morning having coffee on the deck with our “pack of dogs”. We were just relaxing with our coffee and enjoying the morning. (We try to keep our weekend mornings free to enjoy this kind of relaxation, because our week’s are so hectic with our jobs, responsibilities, etc… ) Looking over my saved photos from that particular day, it appears that I was inspired by a number of things, and below are the pictures I took.

First, there was a picture of Niko and "Red", lounging on the deck with us.

Then, I noticed a berry bush in our yard at full peak, and not only shot this picture, but ATE most of them.

And then a snake appeared in our cedar wood pile, coming out to soak up some sun-rays.

After this morning of relaxation, and after I took all the above photos, I came in the office to download them and found something that warmed my heart. NUTTAH HAD RETURNED!! And not only was SHE back, but I was back too (my character), and all the missing figurines had returned. We had all been missing for almost 3 weeks. Below is the picture of the “display” I found on my desk. It is not so obvious, because you can only see the back of it, but that white piece in front of “me” is Nuttah’s papoose turned around to face us. I am in front of a wolf-pup, and Duke/Tëme, and also the bark-hut that I had totally forgotten about (and have no idea where that was either). There are turtles arranged in the front, and then Bob’s special stone in the lower right of the picture. Does this mean that I am back in Nuttah’s good graces? Is she just happy that we adopted Red? Hope so; all was right with the world after this. Bob expressed disbelief… he actually thought we would never see the missing things again. (After Bob disappeared the other time that Nuttah was angry, I ended up having to make him a new character. His original one was never returned).

Nuttah Returns! I must have been back in her good graces.

“Red” Gets Formally Introduced

As I keep mentioning, I have for the last year been in “catch-up mode” with these posts, and I am always posting about 3 – 5 months after the event actually happened. The last one about the arrival of “Red” was no exception; the actual date I write is October 18, 2013. (Only 3 months behind now!) The reason that I mention that here, is because I think the 3-month perspective is interesting to note: it is very clear to me now that I re-read and write up what happened on a day in July, that Red came to us so instantly for a reason. I did not put it all together then, but I do now, and it was Bob’s “dream” about needing a smaller female as part of Niko’s “therapy” that was the major clue. (Course that was no less a major clue then in July, but other things have also transpired to “clinch” it, so to speak).

2013-07-27Bob wrote this email on July 19, 5:54 AM: When I got up this morning, I got worried because I couldn’t find Niko anywhere. I looked through all the rooms, no sign of him anywhere, started to go down the basement and he appeared behind me, as far as I can tell, literally. Was very worried he was gone. I don’t think he liked being supplanted. Also, something else happened, and not that we have to call Red by this name, but, her name is Nady/Nadie or Numeys/Numees. Not sure of the spelling, giving a couple options for each. That is what she is called by Nuttah, Tëme and the elders. I am not positive she is part of an ongoing historical relationship like Tëme/Dukey/Niko, but she is here for a reason. I find it interesting that Niko doesn’t do the herding thing in the morning when I get them out, he just heads out, does his thing and then waits until everyone is ready to go back in, walks along side her, doesn’t bark or herd. Probably half asleep.

I took a picture of her shadow one morning as I was walking her. You'd think this was the shadow of a wolf

A couple of days later, Bob texted me this while I was walking Red on the towpath:

6:54 PM: “Well, I know what Red is at least partly mixed with.”

Text back from me: 6:55 pm, Me: How do u know and what? Wolf?

Bob, 6:57 PM: Yes. I was ‘shown’, 3 generations back, female, small shepherd, was mated to a red wolf.

Me, 7 pm: Huh. Thought so. She looks so wolf-like.

And I wondered “What is her role in this?” That is still not completely clear, but apparently she is part of the ceremonial therapy that will “repair” what is ailing with Niko. Or at least hopefully.  I’m always a little cautious with these new shelter dogs, especially not knowing their past background. Unfortunately, though, whenever I walk her, if we pass people, especially people with other dogs, it is very difficult for me to contain her. And she can quickly resort to growling and snarling. I always make sure I have her under good control with a very secure leash. So, it would appear that the last link in the chain to repair Niko’s damaged psyche has been thrust into our midst, so to speak. Lets hope it works.
