Events #219-222: May 18 – 20, 2011

Here is an excerpt of an email that Bob sent on the morning of May 18:
Well, what do you think of my hurtin’ drawing? Were you able to at least get the concept of what I was trying to get across?

(Bob refers here to the drawing he did of what he was ‘shown’ in the vegetable fields: the mounded style of gardening)

Bob continues: I think, and this is unclear, as is everything, that one of the animals that is left alone for “religious” reasons are rabbits; I could be wrong, but I remember thinking as the pups ran through the woods that I hope nothing happens to them, that they are mistaken for dangerous predators or something like that. That is when I got the idea of certain animals having spiritual, mystical qualities that protect them from predation by humans. I guess I should have drawn the “huts” that I saw last night in the “dream”, I believe they may be family housing, but then I don’t know what the long houses are for? I guess community gathering, but why two? I guess I could ask.

This arrangement was just to the right of my keyboard

My reply: I thought the “hurtin drawing” was pretty good, I got the idea anyway. I am going to scan it tonight and hopefully get that stuff updated. I have a new arrangement next to me at my desk too.

(I have included a picture of the arrangement to the right. This was next to my keyboard when I came home.)

A new "heart" arrangement appears on the dresser, using Bob's stone and the Daisy Bracelet

Then when I came in on the night of May 19, I wrote this email to Bob: When I came up, Joe was not doing much of anything, sleeping only I think, but there is a new arrangement on the dresser. I will put a picture in the blog maybe tonight… you have a heart pointing at you with your stone inside it and the daisy chain bracelet is stretched out straight across the top of the heart. Interesting new twist. Couldn’t find anything else though.

So to the left, I have placed the picture of what I found: Bob’s “stone” is placed inside a heart-shaped necklace, and the daisy bracelet is stretched out across the top in a straight line this time. I should mention that everything on the dresser, including the turtle, got all messed up and pushed to the side, because I am in the process of the seasonal “wardrobe-change”, where I swap out my winter clothes and bring in the summer stuff. It’s taking longer than I thought.

And then two last things bear mentioning: The ducks on the closet were slightly readjusted again, and Stewie has been reporting something that’s happening to him. He told us that about every other day, his TV remote is in a new place in his room. It’s been a long time since anything happened to remotes, so we find this interesting.

Event #159: Monday, December 20, 2010

Bob called me as usual at work, and sounded a little perturbed as soon as I picked up the phone, so I said, “What’s wrong?”

Bob: “Well, nothing really, except that she is up to some shenanigans ‘cause she’s pissed off about us letting the fire go out…”
Me: “What do you mean, what did she do?”
Bob: “She disabled my remote – yours too.”
Me: “Well, mine isn’t really working anyway, so don’t go by mine.” I confessed. “I’ve been having a lot of trouble getting it to work. I can barely change channels with it.”
Bob: “Well, alright, forget about yours, but mine has been working, and it was disabled.”
Me: “So what did you do?” I asked.
Bob: “The first thing I did was look in my drawer for the instructions – I keep it in there, there’s a code that you need to get it re-programmed, and I needed that code. And I know that I had it in that drawer.”
Me: “So where was it?”
Bob: “I had to ‘ask’ her. She ‘told’ me that put it downstairs behind the TV in the kitchen.”
Me: “And it was there?”
Bob: “Yeah.”
Me: “How did she ‘tell’ you?”
Bob: “Same way she always does – I asked with a picture and she answered with a mental picture of where it was and I knew right where to go.”
Me: “So why did she do that?”
Bob: “It was about the fire – she was mad that we let it go out, and this was her way of retaliating. I did come home to embers burning, but I guess that was not enough.”
Me: “Do you pick up anger?”
Bob: “Well, really it’s more like concern.”
Me: “How’d she know how to disable the remote?”
Bob: “Don’t know… how does she know how to do anything she does? I thought I knew the codes to reprogram it, but they weren’t working, so I went looking for the instruction sheet in my drawer, and I knew right away that not only was she responsible for the remote being screwed up but that she’d hidden the instruction sheet too.”

(I’m thinking now… how on earth would she know those two things were related… but I didn’t think to ask that when we were having this conversation.)

Me: “So was she also in the room then?”
Bob: “Oh yeah, she was there.”
Me: “So if there were still embers burning, why is that an issue? I mean what can we really do, we’re gone all day?”
Bob: “I don’t know, but we didn’t burn fires all summer, and we’re not going to burn a fire all summer – they might, but we are not.”
Me: “Doesn’t she sense that we’re working on it, that we had a problem with the stove, and we were fixing it?”
Bob: “Guess not.”
Me: “Is anything else out of place?”
Bob: “I don’t know, I didn’t really focus, I was busy stewing over my remote.”
Me: “It seems a little… sneaky on her part, don’t you think? How did you know that it was about the fire?”
Bob: “Cause she told me.”
Me: “Well, have you asked her why she can’t keep the fire going if it’s that important? I mean, wasn’t she doing that before, when we found new wood burning that neither of us could have done?”
Bob: “No, haven’t asked. But I think I will the next time I ‘see’ her.”
Me: “Yeah, it seems to me that if she can move all that other stuff, that she could ‘think’ a piece of wood in the fire to keep it going. Guess it’s not the kind of fires her tribe was used to. Maybe she is afraid of burning the house down, and doesn’t want to risk that?”
Bob: “Could be…”
Me: “Did you have the sense that you were being reprimanded?”
Bob: “YEAH! I knew right away what was going on when the manual was gone. She gave me the picture [of where it was], but only after I got really irritated about it. It’s great.”

When I got home about an hour and a half later, I went upstairs as I always do, and I sensed her even before I entered the back area of the house. I stopped at the door to our living room and listened, and I could clearly hear the “buzz”. I could find nothing out of sorts upstairs. Our characters have not moved in days, and no knew things have appeared in the room since those 2 berries last weekend. However, I am sitting down here at my desk with a brand new white feather…

March 7, 2010

Bob has a really interesting theory about “what is going on”. I am buying into it, because in a weird multiple-universe/ parallel universe kind of physics, this might actually make sense. I listen to enough of George Noory on the late-night radio and interviews with Michio Kaku to know that this is something being researched, and wow – how cool that it might be going on right in our OWN BACK YARD. Bob will write something later about what his theory is. Roughly (and I can’t write this myself because I just don’t know enough about it, just in a VERY general way at best) but roughly, he thinks that both cultures – our 21st century culture and her 16th century Lenape Indian culture are living in parallel. She is there now, living her life. She is not a ghost. She is somehow – and this part is not clear – but somehow she is able to make the crossover, and enter into our timeline. The two timelines coexist. Is that possible? I think there is a theory that it is possible. It seems here that the theory might be real. Rather than a straight line of time, I’ve begun to understand that time might meander and curve back on itself. Picture a river that meanders right and left like a zig-zag, and sometimes curves back against itself far enough to actually almost touch another part of it. If we are along that “river” of time; we, meaning us in the 21st century here, and she is on the river of time in the late 1500’s, perhaps early 1600’s and we are in exactly the same place geographically… do you think it might be possible that with a short “jump” through time, you could traverse both times? Could it have been the pounding on the creek bed by the machinery? I don’t think I quite explained well enough how completely loud and vibrating that was when they pounded those 6 foot panels into the creek with that machine, and only 1-2 feet of them were showing when they were done. There seems to be a direct parallel between the date that began, and the step-up in activity. For instance, this picture to the above left of the panels being driven into the creek was taken the very same day that the picture was taken of the remotes on the back of the bureau, from way back there in event #2. The bedroom window is on the top floor of the part of the house showing there. In that picture, I’ve circled in yellow one of the panels being placed. He would lift them over with the excavator bucket and a chain, and then come back with the pounding tip and just ram:ram:ram repeatedly, until they went in as far as he could get them to go. That’s what is happening in the picture to the right, and I’ve circled in yellow the tip of the excavator that is waiting while one of the crew positions the panel properly, and then the ramming will start, as it’s forced in, vibrating through all the rock. By the way, this technique finally worked – it DID control the water, unlike the temporary fabric dam that they had initially tried. They used pumps to keep any seepage away from the work area. I think I mentioned those pumps in a previous incident, when I heard something coming from outside that I couldn’t explain. In this case, I needn’t have worried. But getting back to time… imagine the implications of what might be happening here. My mind needs to grasp the import of it. The possibility of it. It’s exciting and scary at the same time. I don’t get it — but I sort of want to believe it is possible and that it is what is happening.

Event #29: Monday, Feb. 22, 2010

Tonight I came home from work and came up to the bedroom to change into some sweats. I had in mind to do some bill-paying at my computer or something while I watched some Winter Olympics. It was almost 11 pm and our daughter had already gone to bed. I always check now certain things when I come up to the room. The ducks were in place (still where I left them after the 3rd move). The bureau figurines were in place. With a brief glance, my bedside table looked intact. Joe was comfortably curled up on the bed next to a sleeping Bob. I examined for any kind of prints on the purple blanket, which, finally didn’t have a pile of my reorganized clothes on it. I was starting to think that we’d seen the end of it. I was feeling a little bit rueful about this. That’s a little hard to explain, but I think once I understood how fearful our “entity” had been, I actually in a weird way started to miss it. I felt bad for “her”. Bob and I talked about this over the weekend, and we both feel that way. So I was taking off my jewelry, and I should explain that I keep my jewelry hanging on the inside of a small closet door. It’s a little closet in our bathroom. I’ve added a picture to the right to get a feel for the whole set-up. Look at the bottom shelf – I’ve put a red circle around the two objects that are the subject here, and then the the left below that is a close-up of the two — the daisy heart bracelet, and the TV remote.
That’s where the “heart-daisy” bracelet has been “doing its thing”. And I opened the door, hung my earrings, hung my necklace, and was just about to shut the door, when I noticed – the bracelet. And here it is, in a perfect heart shape (see picture to the left) and as I’m noticing the heart – guess what else is sitting right there – Bob’s TV remote. Above I’ve placed a picture of the entire closet, just for reference where this all is.

Event #19-20: Saturday, January 23, 2010

Bob was in the bathroom and had the TV on NFL Network, Channel 29 on our TV. From in the bathroom, he heard the channel change from where he’d set it, and came out and found it on Channel 27. Later, when I went up, Joe came slinking out from underneath the bed, anxiously hopped on top of it and surveyed the room nervously, like he was hiding from something he’d just seen. (Bob had left the room quite a bit earlier). Obviously, there is nothing conclusive about the cat behavior, but the channels changing while you’re watching is something new.
When I downloaded the pictures I had taken, Bob looked at the “handprints” on the blanket that I had talked about at the end of the Wednesday post. He looked carefully, and declared that they were NOT his handprints. He also pointed out to me that the “fingers” go in really awkward directions. So I’ve added one of those pictures here, to the left. Another thing he mentioned was that he purposely has NOT been touching the blanket so as not to confuse his prints with “other” prints; that was after the day I found a fist print on it, and he told me he’d been leaning there looking out the window at the work going on.

Later on Saturday, we’d gone out to dinner nearby, and got home a bit after 9. I went upstairs to change into something comfortable, and Joe was laying curled up on the bed. Nothing was amiss; I looked around at all my (now) usual spots: top of closet, bureau, bed-side-tables for remotes. Nothing was out of sorts. Later, Bob went up to bed ahead of me and I followed after starting another load of wash. I asked Bob if he’d noticed anything, and he said, “Nothing but Joe walking the perimeter of the room and muttering to himself”. Oh, yeah? What was he saying? And with that, Bob did this perfectly ridiculous (and hysterical) imitation of Joe walking around the room all out of sorts muttering away like this:
“This-is-fucking-ridiculous-I’ve-had-enough-of-this-stop-fucking-with-me-I-can’t-take-any-more-of-this-what-are-you-trying-to-do-to-me-on-and-on-and-on” like that, slinking around and muttering along the room’s perimeter. He said it was like something had JUST happened. So I looked around. And sure enough – it was the Ducks again. See picture – the 2 that have already been moved twice are now further down, right to the edge of the closet top. If they move any further, they will be on the floor. And the big duck, the one in front – he was moved further away from the Mama duck, formerly leading her charge. There are “drag” marks in the dust and I photographed them too. The picture below shows all the disturbance in the heavy dust above the closets. I had no idea it was like that up there, I don’t often look. Guess I will in the future, that’s pretty disgusting. I’ve circled in yellow the ducks that were moved off to the left at the end of the closet. Joe calmed down finally after we got in bed, but he was NOT happy. Bob thinks if he’d come up a couple minutes earlier, he might have witnessed it. I asked him to leave the ducks like this, so I could see if there is any more progression.

Event #18: Wed., January 20, 2010

I wrote this email below to Bob, after I discovered his remote on my table when I came home Tuesday evening. First, I’d asked him where he’d put his remote when he went to bed, and he said the usual spot, which is on his OWN bedside table.

And my email:
“Ok, well that’s another incident then that happened while you were sleeping — when I came up at about 11:30 or so, both remotes were on MY table, and mine had been turned around to face the wall, the same way yours was. (That’s not how I leave it) Also — and this is almost weirder — I had to get up later to FIND my remote when I wanted to switch off the TV — it was no longer on top of the comforter where I’d laid it, it was IN the bed with me, under the cover. I didn’t do that. I did talk to Jim about the pump, he said they meant to leave it on.”
The comment there about the pump is because I was wrapping it up in the bathroom and heard this odd noise coming from what was seemingly right outside the window. It totally freaked me out – I was too scared to lift up the blind and take a look, even with the light off in the bathroom. After I just stood there listening for awhile and couldn’t figure out what was making the noise, I woke up Bob. He had heard it too, and told me the crew had set up a pump in the creek in the last area where they’ll be working; he just wasn’t sure if they’d meant to leave it running, so we left it alone. To the left is the picture of where I found both remotes, and Bob had placed his on his own table when he went to bed. You like my silly mouse (against the wall)?

There was nothing amiss Wed. night when I came home. Just an odd print on the blanket, but I decided later it was probably Bob’s hand prints from looking outside. But last night, when I talked to Bob from work, he said Joe the cat was really freaky when he came up to go to bed. I told him that is usually (now) a good indicator that we’ve had some “activity”. So when I got home Thursday night (Jan. 21), I took a careful look around. I couldn’t see anything really obvious, except an unusual print in a yellow blanket that sits atop a tiny child’s stool. I know Joe can’t sit on the stool, but something has made a depression in that blanket. I will photograph it later, along with the VERY subtle thing I discovered after that. It’s my little sitting angel – she sits between the cow and the chicken, and now she is turned around too, facing the same direction they are. The only thing in that little row that has not been turned is the sheep. We shall see. Did I mention that I removed the ceramic pitchers that sat on the shelf above our bed? I just didn’t want them tipped over falling on us while we sleep. I forgot to take a picture of the angel, and Friday evening, Bob turned all the figurines back the right way.

Event #10: Early on Monday, January 11, 2010

Three incidents are questionable, but bear writing – one is I think I found my radio on Saturday morning, the morning of the 9th described above when I first went up there and found my remote taken out of Bob’s drawer. I thought I had turned it off, but can’t be entirely sure. Then yesterday – Sunday, the 10th – Bob went upstairs and found our cat, Joe, completely unsettled and slinking about the room, very freaked out, hiding under furniture and not wanting to come out. Earlier he’d found him just curled up on the bed.
I went up later, and he was still that way; he was yowling at me and restless. And then this morning – the 11th – Here is the email I sent to Bob:
“The only thing is that I got up and did my usual cursory glance around — the 3 main things I check now are the 2 remotes, and the purple blanket. The crew is what woke me up, so they are here. Everything seemed fine. Then I looked over again at the window, and the purple blanket now had 3 little prints on it. As if you were to take 3 fingers and press them in. But I can’t 100% swear they weren’t there when I first looked and I just didn’t see them. This will be a questionable one — nothing else seemed amiss.

Events #8 – 9: Sunday, January 10, 2010

Sunday evening: We went out tonight to watch the football game out at a sport’s bar. Our daughter, Kate, stayed at home. We were gone from 6:15 til 10:15 or so and left at half-time, as the game was clearly not going in our team’s favor. As soon as we got home, I went up and looked around our bedroom, but could find nothing amiss with the remotes. All I found was a new impression (print) in the soft blanket and I took pictures again of that. It is not made by our cat (Joe) – it looks like a small foot. There was only one tonight, earlier in the day there had been two. The pictures didn’t come out because it was dark and the flash kept going off, which washed out the shadows formed by the soft impressions. Then Bob went up while I was writing the former owner a return email. He came down kind of freaked out sounding saying,
“When you looked around upstairs, did you look in the closets”?
“Well, no – I hadn’t, WHY?????” I was feeling chills creep up my neck as I said this. What could Bob have found in the closets. He proceeded to tell me how the the clothes in his closet had been completely rearranged. All the stuff that had hung on the right was now on the left, and basically everything was reversed on the top rack. Also, a sweater he never wears was placed in a new spot. Nothing else seemed to be out of place – but who knows? That would have taken quite a bit of effort to swap those clothes; some of them are heavy things. I was a little freaked by this, I must confess. So I went upstairs, and I took both remotes out of drawers and put them on our tables where they belong, and removed from the room 2 extraneous remotes that didn’t really go to anything and put both in the basement! Now that is going to HAVE to be IT!!!!

Event #4 – 7: Saturday, January 9, 2010

We now have a name for “it”: “Enty” for Entity. Today’s “haunting”: (this is now #4). We are home today and I’m working in the basement cleaning, and Bob is busying himself about the house with tasks. The wall work-crew is out back doing a majorly noisy job today; driving steel panels into the creekside. As a “test”, I put my TV remote in Bob’s side-table drawer, and Bob’s in MY side table drawer. Basically, I swapped them. We were both home, AND, I went up once and checked; nothing had changed. Went up a second time, after all was quiet outside and the work crew had wrapped it up and gone home. MY remote was OUT of Bob’s drawer, and back on top my bed-stand. I can’t swear to it, but I also think that my radio was BACK on, after I had turned it off when I got up. And Bob noticed when we got up this morning something else — 2 pictures that hang on the walls in the room have been switched — and one is this REALLY heavy slate piece. geeezzz… And we don’t really even know when that happened. It could have been yesterday, it could have been a week ago. It could have been minutes ago! We really have to start to become more observant of our surroundings.  Still no comment from the former owner of the house. I hope I didn’t freak her out.

Still Saturday: I put 2 remotes in the tall wicker cabinet again, but in different drawers; the 1st and 3rd drawer. They were working out back today making a lot of noise. I went up twice – the first time nothing, the 2nd time, my remote was out of the drawer and laid on the floor in front of the wicker cabinet. Both times it moved it was MY remote that was relocated.

Odd impressions on sides of blanket

Also, I photographed 2 odd looking impressions in a soft blanket by the window. They look like handprints or small footprints See picture to the right. They are probably set about 18” apart. Sorry, but this just doesn’t look like a cat sat on the blanket:

Event #3: Friday, January 8, 2010

Today, when I left for the job I have on Friday’s, I decided to do kind of an experiment. I thought I’d put both of our TV remotes into an obscure spot, that only someone (thing) who observed me doing it would know about. So I put them in my wicker cabinet; a tall, very narrow cabinet with 3 or 4 drawers and two doors, where I keep mostly scarves and odds & ends. One door is at the bottom, and I placed both remotes in there, not touching. When I came home that evening, I found them in the same cabinet but piled on top of each other. Also that morning, I had emailed the former owner of the house and asked her if she had ever experienced anything that she could classify as a “haunting”. No answer yet from former owner.
